It is estimated that our brain receives information through our senses that translate into about four billion pulses per second neuron. Of these four billion pieces of information we are only aware of about 2,000. This is only 0,00,005 thousand%.
It's happening right now. I bet, until you talk about it now, they were not aware of the feel of clothing on the skin. Or, to be aware of noises in the background. Or, be aware of their internal object of peripheral vision. Until I told them they were paying the utmost attention to something else.
Should be fully aware of all the information that you receive all of the time it would probably be so overwhelmed that it would not be able to function. Unwanted information is filtered through a process of deletion, distortion and generalization. This filtering process is driven largely by our belief of how things go at that time.
Although this can be extremely helpful in our brain to explode can lead us in making assumptions about certain situations that may not serve us well, you can easily become victims of the vagueness that we accept as a fact.
To make matters worse when we communicate with others we pass on our assumptions, with the additional assumption that the receiver makes the same assumptions. Our idea of creating gaps in our communication that we expect the other person to fill with the same understanding. Too often because of our assumptions do not deliver what was expected.
Here are some examples of vagueness. hypothesis of what you're doing when they mean?
'Go and raise the morale of the team "
"Make sure they fully appreciate our efforts"
"Devote more time to customer relationships"
Be a sample of Clarity
First of all, to be a champion of clarity it must be recognized that the communication is full of employment. A sample of Clarity recognizes the pitfalls of taking both as a speaker and as listener.
As a listener, are all too aware of the following sentence:
"The meaning of your communication is the response you get"
As such a standard Clarity is responsible for ensuring that their communication is unclear.
As a listener recognize that often interact with victims of vagueness and take steps to avoid relegation from a sample of Clarity, ensuring that they understand the intention of the communication behind the words they hear.
A good way to ensure understanding and always sensory cues that provide evidence of future success desired outcome.
In response to vague statements over a sample of clarity would ask something like:
"And when I increased the morale of the team, one that will let you know that it was done well?"
"What's that let them know that we have put in effort in a way that should be recognized?"
"And when we are spending more time in relationships with customers, what you see and hear?"
